Are Lower Back Heart Tattoos Right For You?

by Karmen Bella

One of the most common areas for many, especially young females, to get tattoos on is the lower back. Design-wise, heart tattoos are similarly popular, and so the two have long been drawn together. Lower back heart tattoos come in all sorts of varieties and can be customized in any way you can think of.

There are a number of reasons lower back tattoos are so popular. Tattoo artists like them because of the ample area of skin available for them to work with, and to create a design of any size you'd like. Those who get tattoos like their sexuality noticeable but not overwhelming, and easily hidden. The lines of a lower back tattoo often highlight the female form.

You should never just get a tattoo anywhere on your body without thinking about it first. Don't go through the pain involved unless you know you want it, and especially if you don't usually do anything permanent to your body. Tattoos can be removed, but a poor decision isn't worth the extra suffering. However, if you are definitely sure about having a tattoo, the next step would be to decide what particular design you want.

While the variety of ways you can make your heart tattoo your own is endless, a main choice comes in whether you'd like to focus the design within the actual heart or to have it spread from the heart. For the former, options come in choices of different colors and patterns the heart is drawn in, or in text or another element added to the heart itself.

If you'd like to expand your tattoo over the width of your back, your other option is to bring a design out from the heart. Wings are popular here, as is writing, either on a scroll design or on its own, and various line designs across your back. The range of possibilities can make your heart gentle and feminine or, give it a somewhat ironic edge with a harsh attitude.

No matter how much you want a tattoo, getting one from a location that isn't reputable can potentially be dangerous. There will most likely be several options open to you for where you can get your tattoo. Whichever tattoo parlor you consider, you should be safe and clean with their sanitary equipment and license. You should know that serious problems can occur with a bad tattoo job.

If you've picked your tattoo parlor well, you shouldn't have any real health concerns after you've gotten your tattoo. But as tattoos are put into your skin with needles, they will need time to heal. Your tattoo artist should give you clear instructions on caring for your tattoo. Follow them to preserve your new body art and for your safety.

Tattoos often get a bad reputation, but they really are works of art than can reflect little elements of you. Lower back heart tattoos are just one of the many options, but they have widespread appeal. Don't get a tattoo without thinking about it and make sure you are safe when you do get one, and if you follow these rules, you can end up with a tattoo you'll always love.
